I. Fraxel Laser for Skin Rejuvenation
The technology behind Fraxel treatment is as revolutionary as the results it can deliver. Unlike other laser treatments, Fraxel treatment is able to precisely treat thousands of microscopic areas of skin, using pinpoint laser beams that penetrate beneath the skin’s surface to eliminate old, damaged skin cells. Fraxel treatment stimulates the body’s own natural healing process which replaces damaged skin with fresh, glowing, healthy skin.

You can expect two levels of results, immediate and progressive.  Immediately after initial healing is complete, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter, and tone will start to become even. Progressive results occus over the next three to six months as the deeper layers of skin continue to heal.

II. Laser PhotoRejuvenation™ for Wrinkles, Age Spots, Sun Damage, and Scars
Laser PhotoRejuvenation is a cosmetic treatment designed to help your aging or sun-damaged skin look younger and healthier. PhotoRejuvenation stimulates collagen growth with resultant plumping of skin.

As we age the signs of time and lifestyle choices become visible through the appearance of rosacea, wrinkles, broken capillaries, dark spots, blotchy skin color, redness of the face and neck, enlarged pore size and uneven pigmentation.

PhotoRejuvenation is the only procedure that can treat these types of skin damage all at once. With the use of Laser technology, dramatic improvements can now be accomplished with little or no "downtime" and with minimal discomfort.

III. Solar Genesis Laser™ for Age Spots
Solar Genesis Laser treatment is a good way to remove age spots and other sun damage. The pigmented spots on your skin selectively absorb the visible light delivered by the Solar Genesis procedure. The pigmented cells are heated and will gradually fall off over the following week, leaving new, healthy skin. The procedure takes only a few minutes per location and is not painful. Depending on the quantity of places treated, the skin may look sunburned and feel hot, however this is temporary and can be relieved with ice packs. The treatment is permanent, but special care should be taken to not allow the new skin to be exposed unprotected to the sun, or new sun damage can occur.

IV. Botox™ for Creases and Wrinkles
There are many ways to treat wrinkles. Dr. Mayhew recommends a combination of treatments ranging from prevention to correction. Wrinkles are a part of the aging process, as skin loses elasticity. By using skin care products like Nu-Derm, and acids like RetinA on a regular basis, wrinkles may not form, or may be plumped up to not be noticeable. Women with lower levels of body fat will see wrinkles more than those with more fat. For wrinkles around the face, Botox and Restylane compliment each other to achieve freedom from wrinkles.

Botox ™ relaxes the muscle so the skin smoothes and the wrinkles soften and often disappear. This popular treatment is safe and results last for approximately three to four months, with a cumulative affect with continuing treatment. Botox is also effective for controlling migraine headaches and overactive sweat glands.

V. All Tissue Fillers (Restylane™, Perlane, Juvederm, and Juvederm Plus for Wrinkles and Creases.
Tissue fillers are a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It is also used for lip augmentation. Tissue fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid which helps your skin retain moisture, a naturally occurring sugar gel and component of skin. Studies have shown that the average treatment results last nine months to one year, about twice as long as collagen. Tissue fillers have delivered results safely in over 60 countries to millions of women. Tissue fillers are delivered into the skin in tiny amounts with an ultra fine needle, generating minimal discomfort. Tissue fillers is a natural skin product which doesn't cause allergic reactions.

Tissue fillers are the perfect compliment to Botox injection. While Botox relaxes muscle activity leading to wrinkles, tissue fillers fill in creases thereby creating a more smooth and youthful appearance.

VI. The Titan™ Anti-aging Procedure
The Titan™ by Cutera laser procedure provides for deep skin rejuvenation and immediate tightening of the cheeks, jowls, forehead, and loose skin on the neck, face, underarms, and abdomens. Patients can expect significant improvement of laugh lines around the eyes and it positively effects skin laxity, as well as stimulating collagen growth as it delivers light energy to the deep dermis of the skin. The results are the development of a more youthful complexion with less lines, folds and looseness of the skin. This is the perfect procedure for people who would like a “lift” without having to undergo surgery, anesthesia, and lengthy downtime.

Titan provides for immediate tightening of loose skin with long-term benefit of deep skin collegen rejuvination. It can be utilized successfully with liposuction.

Benefits of Titan over other skin tightening methods is that there is no pain, no down-time, and minimum complication rate. Also, there is the dual benefit of both tightening and skin (collegan) rejuvenation.

VII. CoolGlide™ and PhotoDerm®VL Laser for Varicose & Spider Veins
Unsightly veins can be easily removed today using the CoolGlide™ Yag or PhotoDerm®VL. These lasers use Yag and light energy respectively to close down unslightly veins. Birthmarks, port wine stains, as well as blood blisters are good candidates for removal. The smaller the vein, the fewer the treatments. Most can be treated in 1-4 treatments in 4-6 intervals.

For varicose veins, it may be recommended that women wear compression devices or support hose, depending upon degree of vein disease. The larger the vein, the more compression should by applied.

PhotoDerm®VL is another form of light therapy designed to eliminate vascular birthmarks, facial spider veins, and other vascular conditions without surgery.

Sclerotherapy - injection of chemical in the vein using a small needle is also performed in select cases.

VIII. Elos™ and CoolGlide™ Yag for Hair Removal

Dr. Mayhew offers hair removal services to treat ingrown hairs, and for cosmetic purposes with the CoolGlide™ Laser and Elos. Laser permanent hair reduction is now the treatement of choice for in-grown hairs. Either of these systems can remove unwanted hair from any body area. Dr. Mayhew also offers laser hair removal for spouses and significant others, as many men today would like to remove unwanted hair from their backs, chest and other areas.

The CoolGlide™ Laser is used for permanent reduction of hair growth from all parts of the body. Because hair grows in cycles, as many as four to eight treatments in six - eight week intervals may be required to achieve permanent hair reduction to your satisfaction. Different skin types have different sensitivities to the laser light beams, and dark, course hair responds the best. Lighter hair, especially pigment-free hair (gray), does not respond well to any of the lasers.
